Beloved independent duo Johnnyswim partnered with Venture Music to generate widespread awareness for their self-titled album, focusing first on re-engaging their existing fanbase with personalized activations and then expanding into new markets. Throughout the pandemic, the husband-and-wife team stayed connected with fans through creative projects like their Songs With Strangers Instagram Live series, where they wrote and recorded songs with randomly selected viewers in just 24 hours.

Our Approach

Venture built on this momentum with interactive experiences designed to deepen fan relationships and drive awareness for the album. The duo leveraged their 255K Instagram followers with impromptu live chats, performances of new and unreleased music, and fan Q&A sessions. Using SuperPhone, fans submitted questions and song requests via SMS, allowing for targeted re-engagement later in the campaign with localized tour announcements.

The band embraced emerging platforms, hosting one of the first artist-led audio chat rooms via Spotify Live in May 2022, inviting top listeners to join an exclusive conversation about their music and career. For fans unable to attend shows, Johnnyswim produced Live From The Backyard, a series of YouTube-exclusive live-streamed concerts that brought the performance experience directly to their audience.
